University El Hadji Ibrahima Niasse (UEIN) is chartered since February 2000 with Ref 000809/AG/MEN/DES by the Ministry of Education, Senegal and is permanently recognized by the Government of Republic of Senegal, to confer MD Degree to students who are eligible to practice medicine in the country.

Saint Christopher Iba Mar Diop (SCIMD) College of Medicine, under the university UEIN, has a main campus located in Dakar, Senegal, offering courses in French from 2003 and has a continual growing population of medical students. The student population is obtained from 21 different countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Central Republic of Africa, Comoros, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Djibouti, France, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Guinea Bissau, Lebanon, Mali, Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Chad, Togo, Tunisia, and USA).

SCIMD College of Medicine is planning to run satellite sub-campuses in Africa and other continents, similar to the one in Dakar, Senegal.

An English program has been introduced at the main campus in Senegal from January 2008.
